Are the words that best describe what Paradiso is doing.
From the space design to the way the cocktails are served, everything the team at Paradiso does is aimed at letting people forget they are in a high-end cocktail bar and create a fun and immersive experience.
I see the 50 Best list as a way to learn what are the trends in the industry, what is working in today’s bars. If I look at Paradiso, a few things come to mind:
Hospitality starts with feeling welcomed when you walk through the door
Focus on the story more than the technique
Bartenders look for the best drinks, guests look for a fun experience
The menu is a support for conversations
Word of mouth builds reputation: it’s easier to describe how a cocktail was presented than what it tasted like

Would be the way I would describe SIPS. One of the bars where you can find a coherence between the design of the space, the staff, and the cocktails. Everything is elegant and refined without being posh, the seating and the lighting are designed to give you space and time to concentrate on your drink.
The menu explains the process and the ingredients in a subtle way, sharing some details of the craft without being too technical.
A few things I learned from SIPS, number 3 in the 50 Best list 2022:
Refined minimalism is the new chic
Drinking cocktails deserve the same level of comfort you can have when dining in a fine restaurant
You can put up a show without showing off
The best Cocktail bars and Bartenders have the same status of restaurants run by starred chefs, they are destination places
It was interesting to see that Paradiso and SIPS share a similar passion for experiential cocktails and custom-made glasses (or anything else that can contain a liquid) but have quite different approaches when it comes to hospitality: more extrovert and more of a show at Paradiso, more intimate and intellectual at SIPS.
Big up to Barcelona for having two bars in the list of the 50 Best Cocktail Bars 2022!
